The Korean Ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church was privileged to have hosted a Korean War Veterans Luncheon on November 5, 2017. James Kim, the Korean pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, pastored by Dr. Randy Tewell, expressed gratitude both to God and to the veterans for their courageous sacrifice and service in Korea many years ago. With attendance exceeding seventy, including over a dozen members of the Gulf Coast Chapter #001 of the Korean War Veterans Association, Korean church members of Lighthouse Baptist Church, and other Korean residents from the Greater Mobile area, this time of......
Our 17th Anniversary Community Celebration was a great day for Lighthouse Baptist Church. We had over 1,100 in our services with many visitors. Dr. David Gibbs brought a great salvation message and we saw 35 people saved in the main services. Many of these people were some of those our church had especially been praying for. Our children’s ministry on the main campus had over 130, with about 30 visitors, three of whom were from families who came from our public school outreach. We rejoiced that several of the children understood the......
It has been a joy to see how the Lord continues to grow our Spanish congregation both numerically and spiritually. Just recently, they had a special day with a total of 371, with many visiting families and several precious souls saved. As we see the Spanish families unified, we praise the Lord for a job well done and give all the glory to God! #lbctheodore #teamspanish #onechurch #killingit #thenextbigthing...
A shout out to our secretarial staff. We at the offices of Lighthouse Baptist Church want to thank the ladies who make our jobs easier. We appreciate their dedication, flexibility, and willingness to be used in this important ministry. They serve the Lord by serving others – not only as wives, mothers, soulwinners, choir members, children’s workers, and faithful church members. We appreciate the voices who answer the telephone and give a Godly first impression to those who call the church offices. Likewise, we value those who help the parents and children......
What a great time of fun and fellowship this year’s Pine Car Derby was! Last Saturday, over fifty cars raced in our annual Master Clubs Pine Car Derby which had a beginner class (5 and under), a primaries class (1st and 2nd grade), a juniors class (3rd-6th grade), and a teen and adult class. Winners in each category were Grace Kim in the beginners, Hannah Hussar in the primaries, Emma Hussar in the juniors, and Miss Erika DeAnjou in the teens and adults. She also had the overall fastest car. Awards were......
What a blessing our Easter Cantata was! We were treated to an uplifting, soul-stirring time through the music and drama as we were reminded of His Great Love. As our characters portrayed the love Christ showed to different Bible characters, the orchestra and choir helped us remember how the Lord showed His great love toward us. Pastor Tewell had prefaced the cantata with a message from Ephesians 2:4-5, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins…” We were......
As a part of our desire to fulfill the Great Commission, we want to “teach all things” to even our youngest churchgoers. On Wednesday evenings, we offer a special children’s program, the Master Clubs. Using this ministry, we seek to disciple our children in Bible truths, such as creation, God, Jesus, prayer, God’s Word, and other vital Bible doctrines. On March 4, our children participated in the Master Clubs Regional Competition. This past Sunday night, we took the time during our evening service to highlight some of the activities of the Master......
As always, December at Lighthouse was a busy time of year. What a joy to be a part of a church that puts Christ 1st throughout the year, but especially during the Christmas season. At the beginning of the month the Lighthouse Baptist Academy, students put on two showings of an exciting play entitled, Christmas in Black and White. Through singing and acting the students challenged us to realize the true meaning for Christmas. Kindergarteners all the way through 12th grade sang alongside this year’s cast and their performance made us laugh and......
