Spanish Ministry #killingit

It has been a joy to see how the Lord continues to grow our Spanish congregation both numerically and spiritually. Just recently, they had a special day with a total of 371, with many visiting families and several precious souls saved. As we see the Spanish families unified, we praise the Lord for a job well done and give all the glory to God! #lbctheodore #teamspanish #onechurch #killingit #thenextbigthing...

Staff Highlight #killingit

A shout out to our secretarial staff. We at the offices of Lighthouse Baptist Church want to thank the ladies who make our jobs easier. We appreciate their dedication, flexibility, and willingness to be used in this important ministry. They serve the Lord by serving others – not only as wives, mothers, soulwinners, choir members, children’s workers, and faithful church members. We appreciate the voices who answer the telephone and give a Godly first impression to those who call the church offices. Likewise, we value those who help the parents and children......

Ecuador Mission's Trip - Amazon Region

Our final days in Ecuador couldn’t have been better. Pastor Galo Montalvo organized a special service on Tuesday night especially for us and had Pastor Deanda preach as well as at the Wednesday night Bible study. Both services were such a blessing. We couldn’t believe it when Pastor Galo told us that we were the first group from America to visit their church and missions. We’re very excited to have him with us in January for our annual missions conference! Pastor Galo was such a wonderful host. Before sending us off to......

Ecuador Mission's Trip - Ambato

Our time in Ambato with Pastor Galo Montalvo has been especially eye opening. God has blessed richly the generosity of his people and their desire to reach their area with the Gospel. What a blessing it has been to share such sweet fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ whom we just met! Of the several missions that Pastor Montalvo helps, one in particular is truly in need. The church has dirt floors and no furniture, and since the pastor has no transportation, he has to walk for two hours before......

Ecuador Mission's Trip - Santo Domingo

God’s hand is clearly on Pastor Franco Loyola and Iglesia Bautista de la Fe. Our group has greatly enjoyed the fellowship of pastor Loyola and his family, as well as the gracious people of his church. His wife, Vanessa, and his two children Camila (19), a nursing student studying pediatric oncology at Pensacola Christian College, and Mateo (10) were wonderful hosts. Pastor Loyola has such a passion for the great commission. In ten years, he has started ten churches, seven of which already have a national pastor. Please pray that God would......

Ecuador Mission's Trip - Quito

The Lighthouse Baptist Church missions trip to Ecuador is off to a great start! Our first day in Quito, Ecuador, was spent learning the city and its people. Quito is the capital and the second most populous city next to Guayaquil with a population of about three million people. It is seventy-five miles long yet only two miles wide. Sunscreen is a must since we are almost two miles high on the eastern slope of Pichincha, an active stratovolcano in the Andes mountains. In Jules Verne fashion, we journeyed to the center......

What a great time of fun and fellowship this year’s Pine Car Derby was! Last Saturday, over fifty cars raced in our annual Master Clubs Pine Car Derby which had a beginner class (5 and under), a primaries class (1st and 2nd grade), a juniors class (3rd-6th grade), and a teen and adult class. Winners in each category were Grace Kim in the beginners, Hannah Hussar in the primaries, Emma Hussar in the juniors, and Miss Erika DeAnjou in the teens and adults. She also had the overall fastest car. Awards were......

What a blessing our Easter Cantata was! We were treated to an uplifting, soul-stirring time through the music and drama as we were reminded of His Great Love. As our characters portrayed the love Christ showed to different Bible characters, the orchestra and choir helped us remember how the Lord showed His great love toward us. Pastor Tewell had prefaced the cantata with a message from Ephesians 2:4-5, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins…” We were......

Last Sunday night after the evening service, our youth department hosted a Pie and Dessert auction. First, we want to thank all of our generous volunteers who made the many delicious pies and desserts! Some of the desserts were part of a silent auction, where people bid on the tasty treats – and sometimes got outbid by their friends – followed by a live auction, emceed very enthusiastically by Bro. Ryan McDaniel. As always, our people were very generous in their bids, so our live auction was an exciting, and sometimes heated,......

As a part of our desire to fulfill the Great Commission, we want to “teach all things” to even our youngest churchgoers. On Wednesday evenings, we offer a special children’s program, the Master Clubs. Using this ministry, we seek to disciple our children in Bible truths, such as creation, God, Jesus, prayer, God’s Word, and other vital Bible doctrines. On March 4, our children participated in the Master Clubs Regional Competition. This past Sunday night, we took the time during our evening service to highlight some of the activities of the Master......
